The journey called life holds pain, brokeness, grief, unmet expectations, trauma and despair. Being human means that we often cannot escape these things. My own story is filled with chapters where pain seems to be the common thread. My experiences have inspired me to create a safe, warm and caring space for you to begin writing a new narrative. I am passionate about helping you understand that you are the expert and pilot of your own life. Through the therapuetic relationship, my desire is to empower and equip you with sustainable resources for the journey, as well as help you uncover your inherent strengths. I desire to help you grow, seek wholeness and utimately to find hope.

When I am not working, I enjoy time with my friends and golden retriever, Annie. I am an avid reader and enjoy cozying up with a good book. I love a good cup of coffee, traveling, and a delicious meal at one of the many great restaurants in West Michigan. I love taking walks around my neighborhood and exploring my city.

My Approach

My main approach to therapy is to provide a safe, warm and supportive enviorment in order to allow trust to be built in the relationship. My goal is to collaborate with you and empower you to write the next chapter of your story in a way that ultimately brings wholeness and growth. I approach therapy through a person-centered, biopsychosocial, holistic perspective. Meaning, therapy begins where you are at, as you are the expert of your own story.

I utlize cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation techniques, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, task-centered therapy as well as well as family systems. I have experience working with individuals who experience grief, depression, anxiety, self-worth, boundaries, life transitions, suicdal ideation, and other disordered thinking.

What you can expect

My goal is to provide a safe, warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. You can expect to be treated with dignity and respect and to feel valued, known, and seen. I will walk with you as your process your story and work with you as you learn to live wholly and loved in your future. We will collaborate to help you live and be your most authentic self.
