Primary Function
The primary function of a clinical therapist is to establish a therapeutic relationship with clients in order to help them identify issues/concerns in their story and guide them through the therapeutic process to accomplish their treatment goals in order to help them re-write their story into one they love to live.
Role and Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Maintain an average minimum case load of 26 clients per week.
· Facilitate the intake process for clients on case load including informed consent, screening for suicidal ideation and facilitating the development of a treatment plan for therapy.
· Provide counseling services using a wide range of counseling techniques, theories and philosophies customized to best assist a client in their therapeutic journey.
· Discuss, collect and apply client payments including co-pays, deductibles and out-of-pocket charges.
· Attend bi-weekly site-specific staff meetings and quarterly all-staff meetings.
· Assist Second Story Counseling in contractual obligations including seeing clients through Ottawa County CMH.
· Maintain all client records in practice EMR systems and follow Second Story Counseling best practices in regards to client records.
· Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times and follow procedures for Release of Information.
· Maintain a 1 business day turnaround for all client communications.
· Update client records including, but not limited to, contact/address/insurance information.
· Willingness to grow private practice through networking opportunities.
· Follow Second Story Counseling best practices regarding client paperwork and documentation.
· Attend and complete required trainings and pursue personal development to continue to develop in profession.
· Attend case consultation and other supervision opportunities.
· Experience and willingness to work with children and adolescents preferred.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum:
· Masters Degree in Mental Behavioral Health Program
· Licensure in State of Michigan to Practice in Mental Behavioral Health (LMSW, LPC, LLP, LMFT) – Limited Licenses Accepted.
Preferred:
· 2 years or more related experience
· Full Licensure in State of Michigan
Required Skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Individual must be self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision, maintain client and team member confidentiality, maintain rapport and trust when working with children, adolescents, families, couples and adults.
· Individual must be self-motivated to maintain a full-time caseload and manage calendar accordingly.
· Individual will need to have comfort learning and using electronic data management applications, must have a working knowledge of email, and must have regular afternoon and evening availability (Two evenings required).
· Willingness and experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
Preferred Skills
· Training and experience providing therapy using various counseling theories and techniques such as CBT, IFS, person-centered, family systems, play therapy, etc.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Job involves sitting for multiple hours and maintaining focus in dialogue and use of critical thinking, and application of theory and technique.

Holland Clinical Supervisor
Primary Function
The primary function of a clinical supervisor is to oversee the clinical work of a select group of therapists, equipping them to be able to best serve the clients of Second Story Counseling. Clinical supervisors are key members of the leadership team and play an active role in the development of policies, procedures and trainings at the practice.
Role and Responsibilities
Clinical
· Maintenance of own clinical caseload of a minimum of 18 clients.
· Fulfill job description of a therapist.
Supervision
· Supervise the clinical practice of clinicians and interns at specific site or license type.
· Communicate and train the policies and procedures of Second Story Counseling.
· Attend and lead bi-monthly team meetings in conjunction with the owner, site directors and clinical supervisors.
· Attend and contribute to monthly leadership meetings with other site directors and supervisors.
· Provide weekly supervision for Second Story intern program and assist in the overall development of interns as clinicians.
· Supervise, review, sign notes for limited license insurance billing.
· Work with site director/owner to help therapists establish clinical and professional goals
· Support staff growth and professional development by addressing clerical, clinical and performance issues with therapists to ensure personal and practice goals are being met
· Assist with interviewing, hiring and retention of clinical and administrative staff.
· Assist with orientation and training of new employees in clinical competencies including EMR training.
· Have a clear understanding of CMH policies and procedures and oversee assigned team members to ensure compliance, timeliness and accuracy in clinical services and documentation.
· Ensure professional ethical guidelines and values of Second Story counseling are understood and upheld.
· Work with the clinical management team to adapt clinical practices to address changing requirements.
· Provides back-up support to staff during scheduled or fun scheduled absences of the supervising staff.
· Assist in overseeing quality assurance to ensure program compliance with licensing regulations and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
· Assist the leadership team in formulation of policies, procedures and best practices.
· Assist Site Director in daily operations of the practice location.
· Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum:
LPC – Full Licensure Required
Four years or more related experience
Preferred:
Two years of supervisory experience
