MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling - Spring Arbor University

My story inspired me to walk alongside others in their stories: the good, bad and ugly. Life can also bring intense joy. It can also be confusing, chaotic, and challenging. I believe healing can happen when we trust our stories with trustworthy people: the good, bad, and ugly. Only then can we begin discovering the best version of ourselves. I am honored to walk with you as together we find better ways of living.

When I am not working, I enjoy filling my coffee addiction at a local coffee shop. I love traveling, rock climbing, and listening to indie folk or pop music. I have been working to become more conversationally fluent in Spanish. Cheers to duolingo and Spanish speaking friends! Currently, my weeks are filled with house renovations and spending time with my family and friends.

My Approach

My approach to counseling begins with knowing you. Every person’s story is different and unique. Our stories include our gender, culture, genetics, personality, interests, and coping strategies. I believe these factors will play into finding solutions to living a better life.

I have been trained in many different counseling approaches. I tend to draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and trauma informed approaches. Together, I hope to approach change holistically: body, mind, and spirit.

What you can expect

Stepping into therapy is courageous. You are choosing to make the decision to care for yourself and invite someone into your story. I am honored to work with you through the hard work of change and healing.

You can expect that the counseling space will be non judgmental. Change can only occur after a trusting relationship is built. We will spend time getting to know each other. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and safe. Together, we can create goals that are specific to you. This collaborative environment requires that you come ready and committed to change at your pace. You can count on me for coming alongside you to support, encourage, educate and listen.
