MA Counselor Education - Western Michigan University (In Progress)
Life constantly throws challenges and changes at us. I have found in my personal journey that these challenges are easier to navigate when you have someone to walk alongside. I found counseling to be a beautiful way to navigate life's challenges, while also finding growth and healing along the way. I am passionate about forming strong relationships with my clients because of this. I see counseling as a way to discover the strengths and unique voice of each client I see, all while fostering self-discovery and empowerment together.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time outside, running, camping, and biking. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, often playing board games or enjoying a good meal together. In quieter moments, I also enjoy reading and knitting.
My Approach
I primarily use a person-centered approach to counseling. Drawing on aspects of Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and elements of an Existential approach. I believe counseling is a highly unique endeavor for each client. I take an integrative approach with the understanding that each client is the expert in their story and journey.
What You Can Expect
When we work together, you can expect to be met with warmth and genuine care. We will work together to establish goals and create an environment in which you feel seen and empowered as you embark on your counseling journey. I am honored to work alongside you through this process.
