MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling - Southern New Hampshire University

My decision to become a counselor is deeply rooted in my own life experiences and personal journey toward healing and growth. Throughout my life, I have witnessed firsthand how emotional pain, loss, and major life changes can impact a person's sense of identity and hope. During challenging times in my own life, I experienced the power of having someone who truly listened without judgement; someone who offered support, compassion, and guidance when I needed it most.

Those experiences inspired me to pursue a career in counseling so that I could offer the same kind of care and understanding to others. I learned that healing doesn't happen in isolation; it happens through connection, empathy, and the courage to face one's story. My own path taught me that every person has the strength within them to grow and change, even in the midst of pain, and I am honored to walk alongside clients as they discover that strength for themselves.

When I'm not working, I am exercising (usually running or an outdoor sport like disc golf, or biking). I enjoy creating art, reading, and cooking/baking. Board games have always been a pass time for me as well as intellectual puzzles (sudoku, solitaire, crosswords). Most of all I enjoy being a first-time mom.

My Approach

I believe that healing involves the whole person--mind, body, and spirit-- which is why my counseling approach is holistic in nature. I view each client as a unique individual whose emotional well-being is interconnected with their physical health, relationships, environment, and sense of purpose. I tailor each session to meet the needs of each client integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), Positive Psychology, Solution-Focused, Art Therapy, and Play Therapy. My goal is to help clients not only overcome difficulties but also build resilience, self-awareness, and a deeper sense of fulfillment.

What You Can Expect

When you come into my office, know that the time and space belong to you. As a counselor, I strive to create a space that is safe, affirming, and collaborative--where clients can explore their emotions, uncover patterns, and move toward greater self-awareness and resilience. My personal experiences help me approach my work with authenticity, humility, and deep respect for each individual's unique journey.
