Working toward Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Even though the human experience is unique from person to person, strings of similarities seem to weave their way into life. Grief and loss, heartbreak, guilt, shame, hopelessness, and many more are common themes all people experience throughout their lives. What is important is how we tell our story, and what makes our story unique from others. Creating an open and accepting space is essential to work through the difficulties life will through our way.

I enjoy anything that gets my body moving from skateboarding and snowboarding, to basketball, baseball, weight lifting, pickle ball, walks, hikes, and lots more. I enjoy spending quality time with cherished family and friends. I am also passionate about cars, tufting, video games, and swimming. I also enjoy traveling, it allows me to get outside of my comfort zone and try new things.

My Approach

The human experience is unique, therefore it is deserving of different techniques from a variety of frameworks. While I use cognitive behavioral, narrative, and person-centered techniques, it is important for therapy to be tailored to each client. This allows the approach to change based on the needs of each person I work with.

What You Can Expect

Counseling can be intimidating. Sitting down in front of someone you are meeting for the first time and telling them your life story is not a common practice outside the walls of a therapy office. You can expect an open, accepting, and nonjudgemental environment so you can work toward the life you want to live. It is important for me to get to know who you are, what you believe to be true about the world, and how you see yourself fitting into it. The time spent in session is about you and how you see yourself navigating life, with me in your corner along the way.
