My career started off on a different path. I went to the Catholic seminary for eight years and became a Catholic priest. It was not until I met my wife that I knew the life as a priest was not right for me. I have always enjoyed helping people become the best version of themselves so I knew counseling was something that I would excel at. I have worked with students in schools, couples in marriage preparation and in nursing homes/hospitals which has given me the ability to interact with all age groups. Over the last few years I have worked with students who have struggled with substance abuse.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am an avid sports fan, and I do my best to stay in-shape. I enjoy traveling and exploring new places. Family game nights are my favorite kind of nights. Fall is my favorite season because I love going on color tours, enjoying the weather and watching football.
My Approach
My main approach is Person Centered Therapy because it is your story and no two stories are the same. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to help with cognitive distortions and working on telling yourself truths. I use Mindfulness because I know the importance of living in the moment, but I also acknowledge it is easier said than done.
What you can expect
You can expect me to be an extremely active listener with the hopes to help you become the best version of yourself. I pride myself on being judgement free and will always work with you to help achieve your goals. My office will be a safe space for all people.
