MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling - Cornerstone University
We all have a story. No matter who you are, it is likely that you have experienced hurt and loss throughout your life. Through the challenges I have navigated in my own life, I have learned the importance of having people you can turn to, talk with, and rely on during these difficult times. As a counselor, I am passionate about walking alongside my clients and helping them navigate life's ups and downs, while providing a safe and supportive space where they can feel seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to learn more about you, and to be someone who is in your corner, no matter what your story brings.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and family, taking long hikes, exploring the outdoors, and finding new coffee shops to enjoy. I am passionate about learning, and I am always on the lookout for great bookstores!
My Approach
Above all, my goal is to prioritize the therapeutic relationship and tailor my approach to each client's unique needs and goals. While I have specific training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I draw from a variety of approaches, recognizing that counseling is not a one-size-fits-all process. I encourage clients to share their hopes and preferences for treatment, so that together we can create a path forward that best supports their growth and well-being.
What You Can Expect
When beginning counseling, I take time to learn about you, your story, and the experiences you are bringing into the process. My goal is for you to experience counseling as a space where you can be known and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. In our first few sessions, we will focus on getting to know one another, exploring your goals and hopes for treatment, and ensuring that I am the right fit to support you on your journey.
