My story has ignited a flame of hope and compassion. Like many people, my life has not been what I expected it to be. Through many seasons of grief and sadness, there were also seasons of joy and growth. However, I recognize the beauty in that. I want to walk along side of you to be your biggest advocate and cheerleader in whatever season you are in.
When I am not working, you can catch me in the great outdoors. I love traveling and experiencing new and different cultures. I would also consider myself to be a foodie so I probably am going to be in the kitchen or eating at new and old restaurants.
My Approach
I believe in a client centered approach. One of my professors in my undergraduate degree always emphasized this phrase, "they are the experts on their life." You are the experts of your life, and I am just here to help you process your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I believe that there are so many factors that can impact and contribute to the way we think, act and behave. Together, we will work with cognitive behavioral therapy and solution based therapy while incorporating other theories to help you process, heal, and grow.
What you can expect
You can expect to welcomed with warmth and grace. At the end of the day, we are all human beings who are trying our best to live this journey we call life. Your thoughts and feelings will be seen and heard by me. You will be respected regardless of who you are. I know that counseling can feel intimidating especially if it is your first time, but I encourage you to be open minded. Together, we will work on identifying goals for yourself, interventions based off of those goals, and desired outcomes. Prior to this, we will spend the first few sessions getting to know one another. I believe that having a good therapeutic relationship with set boundaries and expectations is a crucial part of all of this.
