Life is often a confusing maze of decisions and relationships with each fork in the road taking us down starkly different paths. One direction leaves us happy and fulfilled, while the other seems overshadowed by anxiety and fear. Sometimes the floor falls out from beneath unexpectedly, and we are left standing somewhere new wondering what in the world just happened. In many cases, all we need is someone willing to listen; someone willing to walk alongside us during difficult times. The magic of counseling is that there is always someone there to walk alongside you.
When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, writing, and running. I have a strong passion for music and can be found searching for vinyl at yard sales. During the summer I like to get outdoors, whether at the beach or the local basketball court. I love spending time with my family and friends, with whom there is never a dull moment.
My Approach
I believe in a strong therapeutic alliance where we work together to alleviate distress and promote positive well-being. Drawing on elements from cognitive behavioral and existential theories, I work with individual adult clients to help them understand maladaptive thoughts while also eliciting deeper meaning from their lives. Experiences of depression and anxiety are other problems we can address. My desire is to provide a safe, supportive environment so that clients may fully explore their stories.
What You Can Expect
You can expect someone who will treat you with empathy, warmth, and respect. Life can be difficult and I am here to help you explore and grow from the different challenges you face. We will work together to meet your goals and create a better foundation of wellness - a foundation that will support you through all of life's ups and downs.
