MA Counseling - Aquinas College
My story has inspired me to have a heart for listening to the stories of others and meeting them where they are. Life is difficult, and we have all experienced some form of suffering. By listening and engaging with you in your story, my goal is to give you hope and help you work towards growth and healing. As image-bearers of God, we can have hope that we will experience healing and can live a full and meaningful life.
When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, hiking, golfing, cooking, and exploring new restaurants with my husband.
My Approach
Our first few sessions will begin with me getting to know you and your story. I will help you identify areas of your life that you want to work on and improve. My approach is based on your unique needs, and I will incorporate different theories based on what fits best for you. Some of the theories I use include person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and solution-focused. I also have experience and training in EMDR and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and specifically for children, play therapy.
What you can expect
During our time together, you can expect to be met where you are with dignity and respect. Every individual is unique, and I believe that applies to the timeline for therapy as well. I encourage you to keep an open mind and be honest, as you will get out of therapy what you put into it, and change can be a slow and difficult process. I am committed to walk with you during this process and helping you find growth, healing, and meaning in your life story.
