MA in Counseling - CMU (In progress)
My story has inspired me to join others in the journey of healing. Life throws many curveballs both good and bad, but who said we had to navigate them alone? We all have unique stories to be told and I hope to be a positive support for you to lean on during this time. My goal is to create a safe space for you to be able to navigate these ups and downs and continue to write your story, becoming the best you that you can be.
When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, including my two cats Finn and Arlo. I also enjoy spending time outside going on hikes, playing pickleball, and going to the beach.
My Approach
My approach is geared toward a person-centered style of helping where the client is the expert on their own experiences. I believe that my clients have the opportunity to learn and gain the skills necessary to help them navigate the ups and downs of life while offering compassion and collaboration to help create positive change. While no two people are the same, I strive to utilize an approach that best fits my client's needs and personality in addition to a person-centered foundation. I tend to draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness approaches as well. I hope to work collaboratively with clients in finding what fits their lifestyle, while aiding them through their unique mental health journey.
What You Can Expect
Entering counseling is a courageous step toward change and I am honored to be a part of your journey. You can expect your counseling space to be a safe environment to be who you are, free from judgment. We will spend time getting to know each other and building a positive therapeutic relationship. I recognize that it takes courage and trust to share intimate and vulnerable aspects of your story. You will be met with respect and empathy throughout our time together with the goal of creating positive change in your life.
