Self-Sabotage – Why do we do that?
If you’re intrigued by the human mind like I am, you may enjoy the podcast Hidden Brain hosted by Shankar Vedantam. You can find it on NPR and many podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and several others.
I find the human brain fascinating and often challenging as well. Challenging in the sense that despite what I “think” is going on or what goal I might “want” to accomplish, I sometimes find that I unconsciously sabotage myself. Has this ever happened to you?
One recent episode dives into that subject. It’s the episode called “Winning the Battle Against Yourself.” This episode of Hidden Brain features neuroscientist Emily Falk and explores the neuroscience of how and why we make the decisions we do. I highly recommend it!
Hidden Brain explores the unconscious patterns that drive human behavior, decision- making, and relationships. Hosted by Shankar Vedantam, the show combines storytelling and science to reveal how our minds work and why we act the way we do. Hidden Brain often features interviews with experts in psychology, neuroscience, and sociology. Each episode aims to uncover surprising insights about our brains and minds, helping listeners better understand themselves and those around them.
