Masters of Counseling - Cornerstone University

My story has involved recognizing the stories of others, and coming alongside others within their stories to help them find the ability to create something new. Everybody has a story, and everybody's story has parts that they remember fondly, or perhaps wish that they could rewrite. I enjoy working with clients who are currently in the midst of examining their story, or even younger clients who are just starting to begin their story, in order to help them gain the ability to write a new chapter.

When not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my wife, and playing games with friends. I also enjoy watching movies, and sitting down to draw animation.

My Approach

Our personal stories are able to be understood through a variety of perspectives, and because of this, my approach to counseling utilizes multiple counseling perspectives. My approach is to begin with a collaborative, Narrative and Person-Centered perspective to help build our counseling relationship to help me gain a better understanding of who you are, and the goals you would like to attain in counseling. Once we have explored your story for a few sessions, I start to utilize other counseling theories to fit your goals. Some counseling theories that I may use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy.

What You Can Expect

It can be difficult to share your story with another person, especially someone new! What you can expect while we explore your story together is that we will form a safe, respectful environment for you to explore and work through your story. It is in this environment that we create together that we can begin to give you the tools that you need to start the process of healing and comfort.
