Master of Arts in Counseling - Cornerstone University; Bachelor of Art in Family Life Education

Experience has taught me that life is not a simple linear journey, but often takes us places we never expected we would go. Some of those places are filled with great joy and adventure; others can be dark, hard, and confusing. I consider it a calling as well as a joy and privilege to walk with you on whatever path you find yourself on right now, helping you make sense of your story, engaging the broken pieces, untangling the confusion, and working together to bring light into your situation. I believe there is great opportunity for clarity, hope and healing, as well as empowerment, through the counseling relationship.

When I'm not working with clients, I can be found enjoying nature by way of gardening, boating, camping, biking and walks, as well as playing a good game of corn hole. Family, friends, good food and games are something I get healthy doses of regularly. And if there is any spare time left over, you might find me browsing the library for a good book.

My Approach

I come to counseling with a holistic lens, believing that the physical, social and spiritual parts of ourselves can be affected by whatever we have gone through. Believing that you hold a unique and sacred story that has been affected by past and present relationships, as well as events, I consider how these things have shaped how your view yourself and the world. It's my goal to use the methods and resources that will meet your individual needs. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, burnout, adults with ADHD, sleep issues, domestic abuse, trauma, women whose husbands struggle with pornography, women's issues, life transitions and adjustment, as well as spiritual formation and faith as it relates to life's struggles and identity. Theories I use in counseling are: cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, attachment, family systems and transactional analysis. My theological and Biblical counseling training have equipped me to come alongside you in unique ways so that you can grow and flourish in your faith.

What you can expect

I believe that everyone's story should be treated like fine china, which means you will be treated with value, respect, and warmth and compassion when you walk through the door. It's my goal to make a safe space for you to share your story, and together we'll set out on a journey that will equip and empower you to find hope and healing.
